Sense of responsibility
The short
journey we call life teaches us a lot of things. It hasn’t always been a bed of
roses, since we are involved in different kinds of daily struggles. We need shields
to able to face fear and vicissitudes, to protect ourselves while we are
standing on the battlefield. Like many
people, I have immersed myself into deep thinking, hoping to find the suitable weapon
to wield, something neither sophisticated nor easily breakable.
I have
finally concluded that the perfect weapon, the sure-fire cure in another term,
is to be bestowed sense of responsibility.
The word
“sense” refers to a strong feeling of desire towards something, whereas the
word “responsibility” refers to a moral duty to deal with things in a decisive,
sensible and honest manner.
Sense of
responsibility is a transition in one’s life, from having a childish and
immature way of thinking, to shaping a new mindset leading to see things
differently and acting decisively. This is the fruit of an accumulation of
years of experience by frequenting many events and adopting different attitudes
to deal with daily challenges.
This sense is
also about being completely aware of obligation towards society, family, and
performing tasks at work. Serving the common good is set as priority, narrowing
one’s interest by giving much importance to what matters to the group.
Any Society is prone to change that may affect all aspects
of life, and sometimes it’s devastating. Nowadays, the readiness to assume
one’s responsibility is bit by bit diminishing, a phenomenon prevalent everywhere
reaching professional levels. We are talking about parents, doctors, teachers and
other remembers of society who no longer consider fulfilling their duty as a vehicle
for prosperity, and effectiveness inside institutions and their country as a whole.
This leads to a hideous consequence, which resides in inheriting a surrounding
suffering from scarcity of role models, at the same time witnessing the rise of
waves of trivial people, whose cultural background represents a grave danger to
the future of the upcoming generations, and of course the seeds of our future,
the young, are consequently left behind in a vacuum without those champions
who, by definition, pass down morals and ethics to build balanced and sturdy
personalities.
Sense of
responsibility is a school, experience and a value highly needed in everyone’s
life, because it stands for an insurance against any disability threatening
societies, and once is adopted surely the way to success is already paved.
